As part of the upgrades to the Center, the Masonic Center has filed an application for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to replace its current temporary catering operations with permanent food and beverage service. Food and beverage service will only be available during events to event ticket holders or private event guests.
The Masonic Center is also planning to upgrade the Auditorium, California Room, and lobby areas to allow for greater flexibility and to provide a fresh face to a 50 year old, iconic San Francisco venue. The fixed seating on the main floor of the auditorium is being removed and replaced with multiple terraced floor levels to allow for seated and standing viewing as well as cabaret and table seating. The fixed seating in the balcony will remain. The capacity of the building will remain the same as in the past.
The partnership with Live Nation will allow one operator to provide a more streamlined approach to ongoing operations, both inside and outside the building. Going forward, the total number of event days is envisioned to decrease from last year’s 211.
Live Nation operates many venues in the Bay Area, ranging from Shoreline Amphitheatre to The Fillmore to the Mountain Winery. It is this unparalleled experience that allows Live Nation to understand what events are a correct match for each venue and neighborhood The Masonic Center will also continue to host other community events, such as graduations, naturalization ceremonies, exhibition hall events, and private get togethers.
